The Roundhouse
My view of this place may be skewed slightly due to the fact that two of my favorite people were married here, but oh well!

The Roundhouse, bar, restaurant and hotel, is located in the City of Beacon on the East side of the Hudson River. Easily accessible by public transportation via Metro North Railroad, one can take a 5-minute cab ride to the front door (I'm talking to you- City folks).
Built in the early 1800's, the Roundhouse has immediate industrial charm based off of its previous use as a manufacturing company (think warehouse chic). They were even able to reuse older materials which adds romantic details to the space. The property is split into three separate buildings which surround a beautiful waterfall which can be seen from the dining room and even certain rooms, if you're lucky. This 23-room hotel maintains a level of intimacy that most hotels strive for but fall short of.

Upon arriving, you will check-in to the main building which features an AH-mazing restaurant, great bar and rooms upstairs. Luckily, I was able to check out one of the penthouses in this building which features a beautiful large bathtub with a view of said waterfall.
The second building houses a majority of the rooms which are clean, modern and well outfitted for all your needs. At first, I was slightly apprehensive being detached from the main lobby, but housekeeping staff was quick to run over if you needed an extra towel. Just further up the path is the last large building which is an empty event space where the wedding was held. The transformation of this room with large bright windows and high ceilings was the perfect venue for a wedding- cocktail hour, ceremony and reception. What they are able to do with this space is tremendous!
I should point out, that the restaurant and bar located at the Roundhouse deserve a visit on their own. In fact, that is how the bride and groom decided on this location- after stopping in for a bite. For the wedding, they hosted a gorgeous rehearsal dinner in the dining room where the meal blew me away. Taking the short trip over to the bar through the lobby, allowed us to continue the evening over delicious cocktails around a fireplace.

If you're looking for a wedding venue in the area, this is a great choice. With beautiful photo-ops, rooms for guests to stay and great views, the City of Beacon offers plenty for guests to do during the day. If you're looking for a great meal and drink, this is also a great choice. Head over and enjoy just one of the many things Beacon has to offer!
